The Junior Data Engineer will support day-to-day monitoring, first-level checks, basic troubleshooting, data validation, ticket updates, and documentation activities for data engineering pipelines and applications. This role requires a basic understanding of SQL, data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT processes, monitoring, incident management, and production support. The resource will work under the supervision of intermediate and senior engineers. Monitor scheduled data pipeline runs, job status, alerts, file arrivals, and data refresh activities. Perform first-level checks for failed jobs, missing files, incomplete loads, data mismatch, and alert notifications. Create, update, and track incidents, service requests, tasks, and change requests in ServiceNow. Run basic SQL queries, perform data checks, validate job outputs, and support source-to-target reconciliation. Collect logs, screenshots, error messages, and supporting details before escalating complex issues to senior resources.

Assist in the design, development, testing, and support of Data & Analytics solutions, including data pipelines, data models, datasets, dashboards, and reports. Support ETL/ELT development activities, including data extraction, transformation, loading, mapping, reconciliation, and validation. Write and maintain basic to intermediate SQL queries and Python scripts to support data preparation, automation, validation, and reporting needs. Support development of Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards using approved design standards, data models, visuals, slicers, filters, and basic DAX calculations. Assist in building Power BI semantic models by understanding source tables, relationships, joins, business grain, measures, dimensions, and reporting requirements. Work with data sourced from cloud platforms, databases, and Databricks to support reporting and analytical use cases. Participate in requirements discussions with project teams and business stakeholders; document reporting needs, data definitions, assumptions, and open questions.

Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs. Perform manual and automated testing activities, including functional, regression, integration, performance, smoke, and API testing. Support and maintain laboratory facilities and test infrastructure utilized by global engineering teams. Investigate, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools. Review and validate technical documentation for accuracy and completeness. Provide technical support and participate in project activities as required. Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to enhance software quality and testing effectiveness.

Technical Excellence: Proficient in Python for building analytical solutions and supporting risk management use cases. Hands-on experience with Databricks for scalable data processing, transformation, and analytics workflows. Strong data engineering capability to design, build, and optimize reliable data pipelines and datasets. Working knowledge of Azure environments to support cloud-based analytics and data platform operations. Able to own end-to-end delivery of technical workstreams with a focus on quality, performance, and timely execution.
